You’ll receive an 8-hour cool water bottle which you can fill up with safe drinking water throughout the day to reduce your single-use plastic. Eating local will also help to reduce your waste, with produce coming fresh from the market to your plates.
Most of the food you eat will be bought from local markets. The majority of the food found there is grown in the town, where rice, bananas and avocados (and more!) grow in abundance. We’ll also eat mostly plant-based meals. Any meat you do eat during the trip is bought from local herdsmen just down the road!
Through Project Plant, you’ll work with the local community, and learn all about tree planting. We’ll plant at least 50 trees during your trip, offsetting all of the carbon from your travels.
The communities you’ll visit love where they live. They want you to truly experience their culture, food and amazing environment. Our communities lead the way to provide you with an immersive experience and hidden gems you wouldn’t normally experience on other trips.
It was truly the adventure of a lifetime! I enjoyed how diverse the trip was, one day I was getting up close and personal with Tanzania's most impressive wildlife and the next I was spending an evening under the stars with the Maasai.

I was particularly attracted to the sustainability focus of the projects and found it interesting how the local community supports the concept. The tour guides knowledge of the area and history was fantastic and I always felt well looked after. The food available was varied and eating together was a nice way to reflect on the day just gone. I am so glad that I made the decision to go on this group adventure.

This adventure was the perfect opportunity to experience the real Tanzania. It offered a real range of activities where I was able to observe Tanzania's beautiful scenery and wildlife such as waterfall walks, cycle rides to Lake Manyara, and, of course, Safari!

Going to Tanzania with GLV was an absolute joy. Great effort was taken to reduce our plastic bottle use and offsetting our plane flight carbon footprint with tree planting. Our guides were both laid back/down to earth but at the same time completely switched on and on the ball. The beauty of the nature and community was a highlight for me. We saw so many captivating views, saw so much wildlife, plantations at sunset and vast starry skies. We also experienced the brilliantly hectic Massai markets and ate the local food and drink there. It was also an honour to cook with and eat with a local family at their home.
