The benefits to charities in running mission trips
There are many benefits for charities to run a mission trip. Here are some advantages our partner charities have found from running a mission trip to the front line of their work in Tanzania.
‘Funding’ The big one and most obvious is that it generates a very significant financial income for your charity that is not reliant on pure donations. The costs of joining a mission trip are often more affordable compared to holidays, and yet are often more enjoyable and will contribute funds to operations as well as projects on the front line.
‘Raising awareness’ By connecting your stakeholders and those that support your charity with your front-line work can really help raise awareness of your cause. Those who have joined the mission trip return full of inspiration and motivation and can create a wave of interest and progression for your cause.
‘Cross-cultural development and skill share’ It’s amazing to witness the growth of both participants and the communities that are visited by the sharing of ideas, skills, knowledge and beliefs of those that connect on these trips.
‘Strengthening Partnerships and Sustainability’ By stakeholders regularly visiting the front line work, we see how partnerships are strengthened, accountability improved, mission goals reached, and the prospect of a sustainable future increased.
What mission participants have said
“Amazing, a once in a life time experience, ”
“The organisation of the entire trip was spectacular with GLV always on hand and massively flexible to make minor changes when needed. So many of my students reflected that this was a trip of a lifetime and they are absolutely correct when saying this. If you are considering a trip to Tanzania with your students, there is only one person to work with – Dom from GLV. I recommend it highly!”
