Climb Kilimanjaro

Kilimanjaro is the tallest free-standing mountain in the world at 5,895 m. Truly a breath-taking site to all whom are lucky enough to witness it-s snowy peak. Because it is free-standing this means it towers 5 km in to the sky from the surrounding land making it a tremendous spectacle that one can’t look away from.

There are a number of different routes to choose, ranging in length, difficultly and scenery. A mountain of this height anywhere else in the world would involve specialist equipment, experience and training. Kilimanjaro is unique in the way it does not require this, just a passion for the climb and willingness for the challenge. This is one of the greatest challenges on earth!

Climb Mount Meru

Mount Meru the fifth highest mountain in Africa reaching 4,566 m. Not well as known as Kilimanjaro but very popular with travellers visiting Tanzania for many reasons. It’s a more attractive climb than Kilimanjaro for many as it only takes 2 or 3 days as opposed to 6 or 7, so costs are considerably lower. One is less likely to be affected by altitude sickness. The climb presents the possibility of spotting game on the way up.

The steep ascent towards the end presenting some light scrambling can feel more enjoyable to those passionate about mountain climbing and trekking.

The view of Kilimanjaro in the distance, if lucky enough to witness once at the top, makes the experience all so worthwhile.
